I'm new to the list and have a 8 year old son with autism named he's verbal and can make request but not make conversation ,he uses some Pecs cards , he has no awareness of danger . My apartment is locked from the inside and all the windows are locked . He will run and burst into other peoples apartments in the building , they leave the doors open . He is obsessed with getting into other peoples houses,apartments . He ran away from school twice and got into peoples houses . He escaped twice when he was around 3 before we had locks,and about a month ago he got out and made it to a busy street . Is there others like this ? He is just curious to find things to play with , he especially loves VCR's. and trains. My main question is how do you live with the constant fear and worry?! Sometimes I think of just keeping him home because I am fearful of something horrible happening , but I think that's irrational . Also we think he may have had a seizure last week and he's having a EEG this week , so any thoughts,advice on seizures would be great! Thanks for listening !
