Please bear with me as I'm new at this - last night after I went to bed, I could

hear our toilet running - through our closed bedroom door and the bathroom door

across the hall which was also closed. I had to get up and fix it.

I found myself being annoyed that my partner, who was sitting in the living

room, NOT behind a closed door, hadn't heard it. (there was no TV on or

anything)

I couldn't understand why she hadn't heard it. She was amazed that I had.
