Guest guest
I do think the oxalates are an issue for the " bad responders " to miralax in that my daughter has never been on miralax (her brother was the one who had reacted badly to it). But a while ago, I eerily saw her display some of the jekyl and hyde type of behavior that I had witnessed with Ethan while he was on miralax. For her, I believe it was she was overloaded with high oxalate type of foods or something highly phenolic... she wasn't passing her bm's and I was putting more and more prunes and more juice into her and the more days that went by she became mean and acting very strange. Not like a kid having a bad day, I'm talking like a real personality change, a real dis-connect. Guest guest
That's my guess. It makes more sense to me the more I read. Miralax must convert to oxalate and if you have a leaky gut it get's absorbed. Hopefully will chime in with a more educated answer. > > > > > > A quick intro -- my 4 year old son was on Miralax for about 15 > months. > > Constipation since 2 months old - healthy diet including flax, > prunes, > > fruit fibers for years - but still constipated.
