Hi All,

We have a patient who just recieved a liver transplant last week. His benefits

with Keystone will terminate December 31,2003 and he will become Medicare

primary January 1,2004. Since against our advice the patient didnt choose a

Medicare HMO. He will have no presription benefit for the entire month of

January. He is in the process of filling out the paper work for the Medicare HMO

today. Is there any other way to get Medicare to cover his medicines? Since he

wasnt Medicare primary before the operation. He can not afford to pay for 1

month.

Any advice will be appreciated.
