I think with all the recent emphasis on school violence the trend is toward schools taking bullying more seriously vs. " kids will be kids " attitude. It has always surprised me that situations (assault, harassment) that could have legal ramifications in any other setting have ever been tolerated on school grounds. Of course things always change more slowly than we'd like, but I agree the answer is to keep holding the school, principal, teachers etc. accountable for bullying that happens " on their watch. Guest guest Posted November 6, 2003 Report Share Posted November 6, 2003 Hi -I would definitely keep after the teachers at school about any bullying!!My daughter went thru this too-we complained,she complained,-sometimes it was " looked into " and sometimes the teachers actually looked the other way!!!After many situations,and confrontations....(middle school is the pits)she is now in 9th grade spec.ed-where there is ZERO tolerance of bulling-the way it should be!
