Guest guest
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they just pass a law that reporting a parent falsely to CPS was a federal offense? I wonder if you could also sue in civil court for defamation? Trina Hi ,I like the " Will of Steele. " That is a very good way of stating it. I want to meet with her in the community but not at my home. Last years teacher and the speech teacher conspired together calling Child Protective Services on me without me knowing it. The whole thing was done weird and illegal. It was a scare tactic to get me to back off about his education. The Supervisor of the whole CPS for the state has a regional (for my county) supervisor investigating the 2 cases which involved 5 fabricated interviews with me and my children and " approving " and " closing " both cases without me ever being involved. I hope the investigation will lead to the 2 caseworkers admitting that they were trying to help this teacher out and I can take action against her. The Atty. General (or his office staff) responded to me and told me to report the teachers to the National Dept of Education and gave me the address. I am going to wait until I hear what CPS has to tell me of their findings. I believe there could actually be 3 people at CPS in my county that could be terminated over this. I had too much evidence to support myself. The caseworkers did a sloppy job of fabricating interviews - from wrong last names, to saying they were in my home doing interviews when I was clocked in at work and my one child was at daycare clocked in and who was with his community and home based waiver staff. I pulled the caregivers casenotes proving he wasn't at home either. They put words in our mouths. None of us have ever even met. Who knows? We have probably even pasted eachother in the grocery store. I even confronted 2 of the 3 on the phone and they couldn't back up their actions. Hopefully, this new teacher won't be like this. It is not confidential. You should be able to call HR and get it. -----Original Message-----From: Texas-Autism-Advocacy [mailto:Texas-Autism-Advocacy ] On Behalf Of Sherman Sent: Wednesday, July 28, 2010 7:28 AMTo: Texas-Autism-Advocacy Subject: Re: Questions: about Texas sped teacher moving to Arkansas If she hasn't dealt with Autistic students in the recent past she likely was not working in Special Education. I'd ask what kind of training she has had and how long she's been teaching. I'd also ask to have her come visit your child before school starts so she can see how he behaves at home both for her benefit and yours. I think it's odd that the school will say she is " sweet " but not tell you her name. Sweet by the way does not always make for an effective teacher for our kids, " Will of steel " would be a better personality trait. The best Lifeskills teacher I ever met reminded me more of a football coach than a Special Ed teacher. Her no nonsense approach and huge personality got some very challenging kids doing things no one thought they could. She was also the first teacher to say my AU son did not belong in lifeskills and pushed him out her door into inclusion. " Will of steel " is exactly what she had. Best of luck and let us know when you have a name. The school district won't tell me her name. Only that she is from TX and she is sweet and down to earth and I will like her they say. She is sped certified for middle school which is far more than I can say for last year's teacher from Florida. Are there any major things I should watch out for from a sped teacher coming from TX? Somehow she has managed not to have to deal with autism for a while, but had autistic students in her past. Our school and district is having a hard time getting and keeping sped teachers this year.
