Guest guest
Thank you for figuring out what everyone else thinks is a CRIMINAL ACT. I would never send a virus on purpose. I have been humiliated by this virus. It send e-mails and even some people porography. Family, friends, and even my church got this mess from me. Please let everyone know that I did not know that my computer was infected until July, 16. Thank You Rodney Allman 803-322-0404 > The postings sound like one of the variants of plage worms. Guest guest
Thanks Dax, I was about to warn the group as my anti- virus scan came up with the same thing. Jane. -----Original Message----- From: Dax [mailto:dax@...] Sent: 27 August 2001 11:08 gallstones Subject: virus Just to let those who may not already know, there was a virus attached to lin s unsubscription mail entitled *interesting article*. As soon as I tried to look at the mail, my virus checker alerted me. If your email client did not warn you, you may want to run a virus check to make sure you are not infected. Guest guest
For those of use who are new, can you give the related email address? Sorry - but I have no idea who and Joyce are, (yet) so I don't know what email address to look out for!) And is this virus part of an attachment or does it just come from opening an email?? Thanks!!! --- Dale <Da_@...> wrote: > BlankIt appears that the virus W32/BadTrans@MM is in > and Joyce's email system. Guest guest
Go here: http://www.symantec.com/ and click on the Security Alert Button to get information regarding this virus, how it operates, how to check for it and how to remove it from your system. It is an email virus and is very prolific right now. You could receive it from hundreds of different people who have your email address - unbeknownst to them - so if you have a virus protection software, it is important to get it updated with the latest virus definitions. Guest guest
Please ignore any message you got from me yesterday evening with an attachment! My computer downloaded a virus and sent it to everyone in my address book, or any other e-mail address it could find in my outbox, deleted box, sent box, etc. Please accept my profuse apologies. Many messages were blocked and that's how I first discovered it--I was getting bounced mail that I knew I hadn't sent. I have installed the latest Macafee virus sheild and all is well now! Guest guest
An easy way to see if you have received the BadTrans virus is to hit reply on a suspicious message, then look at the address. If there is a " _ " in front of the address (not the persons name, but their full email address) the message contained BadTrans. -----Original Message----- From: Brenneman [mailto:angelabrenneman@...] Sent: Saturday, December 01, 2001 9:20 AM Vickie Ockey; Tammy J Snyder; Sylvia Tamme (E-mail); ne; Nicholls; su1cookies ; ; Sadhna Gude; romeliad@...; Robin May; (E-mail); Pamella Orita; Native-Nutritiongroups (DOT) Com; ; ; maria wabl; Maike; M.
