Guest guest
Hi all!! Some of you responded to my post entitled something like *Poop all day*. Thank you all very much!! At least one of you mentioned doing an enema. I wasn't sure of the fine details like how much water, what size serenge, etc so I called my mil who raised 5 kids that all turned out just fine and had enemas quite often. You may find her suggestion to be over the top but it worked GREAT!!!! She said to use about a pint (I used 1/2 cup) of warm slightly soapy water. She suggested to use Ivory since it is gentle. I just put the bar over the cup and ran the water over it while collecting it in the cup. I noticed that the serenge (sp????) for the adult size enema was actually smaller than the one on the baby-lax bulbs so I used it with no problems. I also coated it with vaseline (just like the old folks did and they all lived through it just fine) not expensive KY that has all sorts of weird ingredients even if it is water soluable. I had my dd lay quietly on the floor for about 5 minutes and then had her sit on the potty chair for about 5 minutes and nothing happened. Diapered her behind and low and behold about 5 minutes later a nice sized movememt came out with no pain!!! BabyLax would always cause my dd some discomfort. She never even flinched with the enema or the movement!!!! I am so thankful for this inexpensive, effective treatment, and for you guys and my mil willing to share your experiences!!!! I was near in tears from joy when she had that bowel movement!!!! I still get teary thinking about it!!! We have no income so buying a $3.50 box of BL is a huge burden. It means the world to have an alternative, and a better one at that!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! Susie ~
