Guest guest
If your doc won't take it seriously, I would find another one, but also know that you can not stop antipsychotic medications abruptly. You have to taper them down, even when Tardive Dyskinesia is present. This is what I have seen, anyhow. If you read up on it, you will find that people stop eating, get rapid heart-rates, and I can't remember the other symptoms they get when they are stopped abruptly. Sorry, but psych meds in general are difficult to work with, which is why people have to see the psychiatrist monthly forever while on them. If your son does have permanent Tardive Dyskinesia, maybe there are docs who have learned how to reverse it. There are so many things one can find on this Internet. Love and prayers, Heidi N O M G Walgreen's screwed up and misread the doc's prescription. He was prescribed 50 mg and Walgreen's filled it for 150 mg. I screwed up and didn't catch the mistake until a week and a half later. Holy hell has ensued since then. Called everyone and their dog last night.....psych wants to put him back on the original 50 mg after two days of nothing....on the first day of school at a new school in a new AU program. Please tell me that the Tartive Dyskenia symptoms that we've seen aren't going to be permanent. Who do I even see to see if they are? I can't believe this. ~Crystal
