Guest guest
This is gross but all she is getting from the Oxypowder are bits of stool coming out when she urinates. I had to give her some M. to get her to go. She is getting impacted. I just thought I'd give it a second try since so many others rave about how great it works ! Re: oxypowder Hi Kathy-- I remember with Elora it took a while to "work" i.e. about a week or just under a week. I wouldn't necessarily increase the dose but just stay with the dose you are doing in that what I am noticing with Elora being back on it, more isn't necessarily better for her. I have to find her "right dose". Too much and her stool is so soft that it seems to be able to stay in there longer, i.e. I don't think it stimulates her "urge" reflex to push it out, so she'll skip a day or so. That's on one full capsule (she's 6). But when I was doing half capsules every day, then it seemed like not enough...stools were coming out daily but they were kind of lumpy and sometimes a bit too large. So now I'll probably try three fourths! LOL! I'm hoping to get it to the point of stools with enough bulk to them so that she gets that "urge" to go.Anyway, see what responses you get about dosing for her weight, but my thought would be to stay with the three capsules and see how it goes after about a week or so (then either increase or lessen the amount).W>> Hi all,> I'm giving Oxypowder another try since all the great testimonials.> Abby is a big girl (about 110 lbs) The first night I gave her two capsules> and last night three capsule but it does not seem to be doing much so far.> The full dose is 4 capsules. Guest guest
Kathy, maybe stay off of it for a while, and then put her back on it, but try only one capsule per day. I know what you are describing...my dd did this also when I was doing TOO much stuff to soften her stool. It's like the frequency of her stool went down, and then when she would go, it was just at a time when she was thinking she had to urinate, and then she'd be surprised to see a thin ribbon of stool in the toilet, too! So I would just give it a break for a while, and then restart at one capsule only, and then gauge her frequency and stool. Right now, my dd is hovering somewhere between benefitting from a half capsule or a whole capsule. If I give her a whole capsule for many days in a row, then we get back to that 'too soft' state. If I give her a half capsule for many days in a row, then it becomes lumpy, hard, and starts getting larger and larger. You could even just start with a half capsule rather than a full. Guest guest
Yeah, your right. It's too runny now and very sporadic. I gave her 5 two nights in a row !!! I think I'll use Miralax and one oxypowder at night and see how it goes............maybe I can reduce the M. Thanks!
