Guest guest
Kim, Kayla is 17 mos. old and just now has 6 fully formed teeth, 4 top, 2 bottom, no molars yet (the two front bottom ones have small neighbors on each side now, so I guess that's 8). It seems like it takes FOREVER for her teeth to come in. I'm concerned about tooth problems because she still gets formula in a bottle and doesn't drink from a cup nor any other liquids and I give her medicine orally which tastes kind of sweet (it's sticky to the touch). She is spoon fed and doesn't chew crunchy foods which would probably help to self clean. Sometimes I only get around to brushing her teeth once a day and they are already stained with plaque on them that I can't get off. Did you have any warning signs about your son's teeth? Thanks, Cherese
Guest guest
Hello Meg. The 3rd dentist said his molars looked strange. They had white spots and he thought the enamal didn't form properly. Another thing they put down to the neuronal migrational disorder (PMG). I've been bringing him to the dentist since he was 2 but his molars just broke through and apparently without any protection they just dissolved. Guest guest
Sorry Cherese but no warning about the cavities. He even saw the dentist last September. I think though if I'd brought him to a Pediatric dentist it might have been different. My regular dentist is a sweety and didn't want to stress out Teddy by doing a thorough cleaning, he just did a little one with a toothbrush. A pediatric dentist would have done a thorough cleaning whether Teddy wanted it or not. Guest guest
Kim, I read your message about Teddy's teeth; poor little thing having to go though dental work. We are taking Kasey to the dentist in March (earliest appointment available.) Kasey didn't start getting teeth until she was 22 months old and then they all started coming in at once, including her molars. They are crooked, but seem to be straightening somewhat with more coming in. My question for you: Was Teddy unusually fussy with teething? Kasey is typically a very happy child, but since her teething started, she has been very fussy. She chews on her hand all the time. She even chews down her pediasure rather than sucking it down! My first child was irritable with teething, but nothing like this. I just wish she could tell me what hurts so much! Deanna
