Guest guest
There are some memories which come up in your mind despite the years. This story reminds me of a time from the past. I was with my family in Mumbai on the New Years Eve. The Society (as they call the high rises there) had arranged for a New Year Festive. One of the events there was for all to sing a song the lyrics for which had been provided on a passing the parcel theme. One could sing it as rock/ classical indian etc. The one liner was to sing the word " oowattanassayam. " and a big prize had been announced. No one knew why this one liner but the announcer's mentioned that it menat New Years in an African language (Does anyone in the group know what it meant?) There was enrgetic participation with everyone competing for the prize. The prize was finally given out to a lot of claps and cheers. Then the announcer announced what this foreign word meant...and the everyone was a bit redfaced. Anybody guessed yet?
