Guest guest
The ones I linked to below are tiny -- less than the size of a baby aspirin. Both my kids swallow pills so these are a snap for them - they compete for how many they can swallow at a time ! I let them control how many --- I think they are more intune to their bodies than we are to ours. Some days my NT wants one, some days she wants 10. I tried putting them in smoothies -- but green smoothies are not a hit around here. BTW -- Kidz Superfood from Amazing grass is a pretty good smoothie starter. Guest guest
Thanks...my kids are not big fans of smoothies either (and definitely won't swallow pills), but we're working on it. I can hide the green if I put it in a colored cup with a colored straw and a colored lid, I think...but they still have to be willing to drink a smoothie... I've been lately debating whether to use chocolate to hide certain supplements. I think it would work, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea. I think I could possibly hide chlorella in chocolate soy milk (recently introduced by my DH, not sure I approve), but I'm not sure whether the sugar in the chocolate would counterbalance the good being done by the chlorella...guess I'll have to think about that. I've been reading The Sneaky Chef, which advocates using chocolate to get all kinds of greens into kids (chocolate pancakes that contain spinach/blueberry puree, for example--the pancake recipe also calls for whole grains and uses very little sugar apart from chocolate), and my kids love those recipes. I'm just not sure about all the chocolate...I did substitute carob powder for cocoa in The Sneaky Chef recipes, but still wound up using real chocolate chips...
