Hi,

I have Chiari 1 and TCS, had my first decompression and laminectomy

in 1996, another in 1997, TCS surgery in 1998, then a final

decompression and laminectomy in 1998.

I have just been diagnosed with Hypothyroidism - specifically

Hashimotos disease, which has in turn caused me to have

hypothyroidism.

I am returning to the doctor (GP) tomorrow for some more information

and tests, but am wondering if there is a link to chiari with thyroid

problems....?

I know that the pituitary gland can be affected by chiari, and my dr

did test my other hormone levels - only for oestrogen and

progesterone, and these 2 were normal.

Should I be worried about any link between chiari and thyroid

problems? Are there any tests that can show that there is a link? Any

advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Lena
