Sincerely, Audrey Hello Audrey, I was earlier showing your last post to my husband and jubilating as it was obvious that you were getting to grips with email etiquette. As it requires some technical software knowhow it sometimes takes a while to get used to it. BTW, it is quite permissible, if not sometimes advantageous to include bits of the post you're replying to. Just scarp the bits that are not relevant. Anyway, well done, Audrey! A Kombucha toast on your splendid post :-)) Margret (and Graham) -- +---------------------------------------------------------------+ Minstrel@... <)))<>< http://www.therpc.f9.co.uk <)))<>< http://www.AnswersInGenesis.com http://www.elijahlist.com +---------------------------------------------------------------+ Global peace begins with the Prince of Peace ruling in my heart. Guest guest
Your recommendation was the only issue, I was unsure of. How much to be including or not. I normally do cut out all the extra from my replies to my friends, as for email etiquette. I just was not sure with groups. I was considering quiting the group. The other groups I joined have had more tolerance. Thank you for your response. Audrey --------------------------------- Yahoo! Messenger with Voice. Guest guest
Well, I think that's just up to the style you're responding in. Typically people post at the beginning or the end when they are saying something pertaining to the whole clipping. Posting on the bottom sometimes has the effect of forcing the person to read what you're replying to first, and I definatly reccomend it if what you are saying doesn't make sense without it. I tend to post on the top, since often I only intend the clipping as reference material. Some people interleve, by replying on the top and bottom of one or more clippings. This creates a conversation effect and is really useful when debating the finer points of something. -Lana Dear Margret, > Should I be adding my replies to the beginning or the ending of each > message. > Audrey > > > > > >
Guest guest
Oh drat, I forgot to trim the tag line! -Lana P.S. Very useful: Note the use of <snip> below to denote that I removed text from the middle of a clipping. > > Well, I think that's just up to the style you're responding in. > <snip> > -Lana > > Dear Margret, > > Should I be adding my replies to the beginning or the ending of each > > message. > > Audrey > > >

Guest guest
> Hi, Lana > Thanks, wears me out playing with arrows. Was wondering if they put >themselves in there? > > -Audrey Yes, they put themselves there when you press reply, all the old text is automatically prefixed with an arrow on each line (or a vertical black bar). You definitely want your new text to not have arrows. Goodness, I remember when I was new to email and the internet, it's a lot to have to absorb all at once. --V ~~~ There is no way to peace; peace is the way ~~~~ --A.J. Guest guest
Thanks V. Although I am not new to the internet or email, but more used to doing 3D chat, forum or Live Voice then doing posting in groups much. But, yes. I also do remember when I was new at it all, and this is new (somewhat). -Audrey <Snippet> >Goodness, I remember when I was new to email and the internet, it's a >lot > to have to absorb all at once. > > --V
Guest guest
Hi Mike and Welcome:-)) When you are contacting someone about sharing Kombuchas it is a good idea to contact them off list privately and not to publish any addresses or phone numbers etc. on the mailing list itself. Seems to me you did the right thing:-)) Peace, Love and Harmony, Bev > > I have just sent a message to Juze in response to her message saying that > she has some spare babies, and have asked if she could send me some. > > I now realise that I should have posted this message to the given email > address: original_kombucha > > Having just joined the group I will follow the correct procedure next time > - again my apologies ! > > > Regards > > > Mike > > -- > No virus found in this outgoing message. > Checked by AVG Free Edition. > Version: 7.1.405 / Virus Database: 268.11.7/436 - Release Date: 01/09/06 >
