Guest guest
Happy Birthday Nicki and ( I am sorry I am so late). We hope your birthdays are very special and wish you all the best in the year to come. I just found out that the study beth was in at CHOP for Di Syndrome (VCFS) revealed 3 other children with the deletion and PMG. I do not know if any of your children have had the FISH probe or not. Also, (on the subject of strollers) we used a Peg Perago(sp) for beth and her baby brother ,Jonah. It worked great. The seats were separate and able to be removed. beth had just had surgery and was in a cast at the time . We used the stroller until Jonah was 15 months and then we used a stroller we found in the Right Start catalog. Jonah could sit or stand in safety and beth could ride in the seat. I loved it because it was more compact and easier to store in the back of the van. Now we just have beth's theraputic stroller. (Jonah runs!) Take care, and beth

Guest guest
I received a post from another group and I'm not sure how to respond to it. I was wanting to paste it here and get some opinions if I should respond or not. It just doesn't sound correct. Below is the email.... I did remove the persons name Thanks I have read a lot of your comments. CDC is like any other syndrome. There are varitables. Even downs syndrome has a huge number of different levels. Some are infants and never grow out of it and some go through school and learn, just at a slower pace. Whatever level our child is, he or she is loved by the family for who they are, not what they may become. There are varitables even in the so called "normal" children. Each of us has a potential, and it is up to our families and friends to see that we get the love, encouragement and opportunities. Dana will never run a marathon, or get a college degree like her sisters, but she is still learning at the age of 46. The other day, she put her clothes in the washer, poured the detergent in and started the machine. She had prompts, but she did it. I know that she is "mentally retarded" (the dreaded phrase), will always have difficulty and never be an Einstien, but I have never put limitations on her. I told our family and friends that we are all "mentally retarded" in a lot of ways. It just means that in some areas, we are slow. Love your child and give him or her the best you know how to give. (and that does not mean spoiling) ha ha
