i too was told by dr g's office staff to have my pharmacy call them.

however, i live in the area and so as of yet, encountered no problem. this

is unusual though. usually the dr office calls the pharmacy. good luck!

Yes, Doris!

Our pharmacy hates to have to call for refills, but that is what is required

by Dr. G. They tell me over and over that the staff is very " snippy " and

requires great detail in an order that they initially prescribed. I DREAD

having to refill prescriptions because of this. Additionally, either Dr.

G's office doesn't send the requisition for lab work or the hospital doesn't

send the results, so I am told, SORRY,,,, NO refill. I am doing the best I

can do. I think Dr. G has to run a tight ship, but this is getting a little

ridiculous!

I guess it depends on your pharmacy. I thought ours (Long's) probably

wouldn't like having to call. Surprisingly...they have never complained. I

call in to get refills (or a new one) and they just say, " O.K., we'll give

the doc a call " As far as I know it's never been a problem. (at least

they've never mentioned or acted like it was)

In my experience, the pharmacy usually calls the doctor unless it is after hours

or on the weekend. So I guess it really depends on the doctor's office and the

pharmacy. I've never had a pharmacy complain about having to call the doctor,

so I've always taken it for granted that that's how it's done.

We haven't had any problems so far. We are up in Canada, so we have to fax a

request to Dr.G's for the meds, then they fax the prescription to our doctor

up here who's staff call it in to our pharmacy. It usually happens within a

24 hour period.

Are there any patients in Canada on the list taking Kutapressin? My

pharmacist has never heard of it.

I looked it up when I saw it mentioned by a few people and what I found was that

it is not available in Canada.

Kutpressin is not widely available outside the US. Not in Australia or

Singapore either.

We ship ours into Singapore from Friendly Hills Pharmacy, Whittier CA,

recommended by Dr G, they have a lot of uncommon things and compound to

order.

Dennis Amano is the Pharmacist. ph: 1- 562 693 3791. They call Laurie at

the office for confirmation of the presecription, and I get a handwritten

copy of the telephone prescription which matches that on the med labels.

(helps with customs too!!). Never a fuss. Arrives here UPS 3-4 days later.

All you need is a credit card! If I want to get the prescription for other

meds filled in Singapore (depends on which is cheapest) then I used to get

Dr G's office to fax a prescription, but now, my local physician (who is

quite involved and has 3 patients!) will use Dr G's emails and then

issue his own prescription - in Singapore the Dr's office can also dispense

the meds so he will do this on the strength of the email!!

Pharmacy calling in the Doctor for prescriptions is not a practice (probably

not allowed) in Singapore or Australia, and I had to explain this to Dr G's

staff couple of years back.

There has been some staff changeover there in recent months and Laurie was

away too sop this may explain why some faxes weren't answered, also I tried

to fax some bloodwork through last weekend and their fax machine was either

/off over the weekend or not answering - went through Monday.

Hope this helps,

I realize that the staff is quite busy however we have gotten

complaints from pharmacists etc about the difficult attitude of dr gs

staff. faxes and such often find the black hole in dr g s office. we

now have been waiting several days for a referral for a nursing

service so we can start kutapressin. i think the attitude needs to

improve and efficiency also.

Doris,

This probably won't help, but we use Walgreen's in Indiana and they are

great about calling for us. Maybe a different pharmacy might do a better

job for you?

Doris,

I use Walgreens too and they always call for us, but this month we did have a

problem getting one of our meds because they said the doctor's office was not

responding to their call. So I don't know what happened there??? Kathy
