Guest guest
I am new to this board and new to . We are seriously considering going to Dr. Goldberg for treatment of our son Garrett. Garrett is now six years old and getting ready to enter 1st grade with the help of an aid. He was diagnosed autistic approximately two and half years ago. We then started the GFCF diet, ABA, various Kirkman supplements, enzymes, Speech, Occupational and Vision therapies. All of which are still being implemented. He has made much progress and is now considered high functioning autistic. His computer skills are amazing and his reading skills are really taking off. But he still has a long way to go. He still labors much with his speech. His social skills are still almost non-existent. His stimming behavior has diminished slightly, but still very evident. (the babbling, jumping, spinning, obsession with mom, screaming etc..) I have read through much of the documentation on the web site. It sounds very hopeful and promising. (As do a lot of other autistic treatments out there, many of which have fallen far short of expectations). I would like to hear from others that are going through these treatments and what your experiences have been…. good or bad. And would your recommend them. Thanks, Don Denver, CO donaldmi@... Guest guest
Hi Don, Our son is 41/2, we started the protocol mid-May, and are very pleased with our son's improvements. Actually my non-verbal severely autistic son just asked me for a cracker (twice!!). maybe I can stop calling him non verbal. We have ups and downs, right now I think we are entering the terrible two's, (developmentally)so it's becoming a challenge. All I ever used to want was for him to call me mommy, I now realize the greater importance of receptive language, and his has soared. He has become affectionate towards his brother and sister and is excited to see his ABA workers (we credit them with an awful lot as well). We have a long way to go but even in three short months we have seen huge improvements. He gets it. I have a file of old posts from parents whose children have benefited from , if you or anyone else would like them feel free to email me privately. dmccreary@... Guest guest
<PRE>As a non family member and fairly objective observer I can reiterate what is saying about her son. I saw him before treatment and this past weekend. He is definitely turned on now and a terrible two. I am extremely impressed by how far he has come. Kudos to workers but most importantly to Mom and Dad and sister and brother. Kathy -NNY
