Hello Group,

Ok, I found you. Phew,..im not too crazy. Im not the only one who has

developed a fear of hearing babies cry. Yes, that is my trigger!

I also was diagnosed with MUltiple Sclerosis 3 years ago. Both sound

issues and MS started at the same time.

My 2 year old baby boy suffered a horrible IV injury while being

hospitalized for dehydration. The people at the hospital allowed his

hand to swell up with IV fluids and the tape around his hand erroded.

The hospital pulled off the tape..and part of his hand, while I was

holding him. I told them " NO-STOP " , but it was too late.

Anyway...weeks of him crying from pain and skin debridemant (10 weeks

daily crying loud and in PAIN) has stressed me out so much!!

He is fine today. That was 5 years ago. Me- not so good. I cannot hear

a baby cry,...ANYWHERE! I freak out! I have to investigate,...in the

store, church, park,...is the crying baby ok??

I become so anxious, fearful and panic. What the heck? MY kid is ok now.

Why do I react to other peoples babies?

When my child does cry,...I still panic...but not as bad.

I am on Cymbalta and Welbutrin. It has calmed me down...but now the TV

bothers me, loud balloons popping, peoples lawn mowers, air blowers and

outdoor machinery is getting bothersome.

I was also diagnosed with MS, a few months after the hospitalization of

my son....

Anyone have some ideas on this?

Best,

Terri
