Guest guest
Hi Everyone, So, we are packing tom. for our flight to SLC Sunday. We have the Aveeno oatmeal bath, and Aquaphor, but we may just end up using our favorite Calendula cream. We're getting Bex's cast removed Monday and the new one put on Tues. Will anyone else be at SLC Shriners those days? If so, we'd love to meet you. We don't know what we would have done these past few months without this site and all of your advice and support. It is an emotional time, wondering what we'll find with his degree, etc...he was at 64 degrees on the day the first cast was put on 2 and a half months ago, and 38 degrees in cast. said she's seen anywhere from 0-20 degrees of correction in one cast, so we are of course hoping he'll be down to 18! We are praying for a miracle. He does look taller, but we just have no idea what to expect. Please wish us luck and send good energy and prayers for the best possible outcome for Bexon! Anesthesia is always a little scary. We're so grateful to be going to a hospital where we feel safe and trust the staff and our doctor very much. I can't imagine going to a depressing place to do this, it is lovely in SLC and the hospital staff couldn't be nicer. I hope I don't scare them by throwing my arms around them and hugging too much! I can feel myself getting weepy already... We did ask Angie if we could stay at the hotel on the casting night, she said no problem. Any other advice would be welcomed. Knock wood, none of us are sick at the moment, and that crazy swine flu thing seems to be ebbing in the media. Thank you again for all of your support! Hugs- -Heidi, Nick and Bexon Guthe (23 months old, about to be in 2nd cast, God Willing!)
