My daughter is 6 months old and has Spina Bifida (back repaired Jan.) and Chiari II (decompression April)and hydrocephelus (VP shunt Jan and revision May). She had decompression surgery in April and we are schduled for an MRI back and spine tomorrow morning. We are hoping the dr will read it and talk to us tomorrow as well. We are also hoping for no new news. She hasn't had a spine MRI yet. We were told to only worry about the shunt and it is very unlikely that she will have life threatning Chiari symptoms, but she did. I do not want to feel so unprepared again in the future. What are others experiences with Chiari II symptoms after decompression surgery and the possibilty of needing another decompression?
