Yeah, I had another bad morning after feeling GREAT again. I

think it may have been the cookies - drat – or that I forgot to take my

medicine (on some low dose Zoloft for post-partum stuff I have going on. I will

be done nursing in about 1-2 more months and think my hormones should level

back out by then) so not sure which caused my outburst, but I think something

in the cookies as it takes more than one pill to go off the deep end, right?.

Good thing is that now my husband will not be bringing home any more snacks as I

had asked him not too HAAA. Guess it takes a full on rant to get support and

realize that this diet is helping me slash us. I am feeling a little better

now, but I had a full on rage because my house is ALWAYS a disaster despite

what feels like hours of cleaning, changing diapers, feeding everyone, picking

up continually etc. etc. and while I understand little one’s not

having the attention span etc. to pick up a lot and acting, well, childish. My

husband on the other hand needs to act like, well, a MAN. (or, maybe he is ha

ha no offense). Then, he asked me to look over something for him (I am continually

doing work for him to help his law firm) but it threw me over the edge (way

more than it should have) but it was like, I cook, I clean, I watch the kids, I

have to help YOU on your business for free, and you cant even pick up your damn

anything and now it is too late/not really enough money to go to Busch Gardens

with the girls like I had wanted to do to get out of the house for once but …

blab la bla… I was pretty horrible, emotional, overwhelmed mess. Yikes.

How does he stand me?

On a happier noteJ. I too need the probiotics –

can any of you recommend a good brand? Too, know of one for kids? (age 3 and 8

mos.?) It is good for them too for immune support etc. as I understand, but not

sure on dosing etc. for them.

I am with you – I think there are probably certain things

that may always bug me – gum snapping, sniffles – etc. but

hopefully it is more of – dude what up with that bad manners? Versus –

lucky I don’t have a gun handy or you would be joining the Angels and me

the other murderers in the slammerJ.

Anyway, lesson learned to STICK with the program. I will be

happy to figure out what are my food triggers. I guess it is good to know they

exist though now – it is real – and therefore I can have some sort

of control over my health and emotions. Lord knows I need it!!!

Thanks for letting me vent!

I'm starting a new thread because I keep

missing messages that have to do with nutrition.

a, you asked about supplements. I'm a big fan of omega 3 and I take a daily

supplement of Carlson's fish oil. I take a probiotic, which is a big part of

the GAPS diet. You have to replace the bad junk in your gut with the healthy

bacteria in probiotics. It's hard to pick from all the various types, but I've

heard it's best to find one that's very potent and has a lot of different

bacterial strains. I take a few different vitamin supplements, but I'm planning

to stop as I continue eating a healthier diet.

, I'm so glad you're feeling great! I've had a couple of bad days too, and

I've been afraid that I'll lose the gains I've made. So far, though, it's only

happened a couple of times, and only in extreme circumstances. I was

" tested " after about a month on the diet, when I spent an evening

with a friend who had a severe cold. She coughed and cleared her throat every 5

seconds for HOURS. It was rough, but I handled it, and I would have normally

had a much harder time.

I really notice a difference in my ability to ignore background noise. Acute

situations (someone popping their gum in my ear) still bug me, though not as

much.

Let's keep talking about this--I'm really hopeful that this could be a big

breakthrough, at least for some of us.

I'm looking for a good probiotic too--the GAPS people sell one that's way too

expensive, but I've heard there are other good ones. I need to investigate a

little more, but in the meantime I've been using Primadophilus, which is also

good for kids.

It sounds like you've had an interesting time lately, ! It's tough when

you have a little one, plus everything else to do. My kids are 8 and 5, though,

and I still feel like the house cannot ever ever be clean. It's not physically

possible, and I get really overwhelmed too.

I wonder if you cut out all the starches and grains (even rice, potatoes, corn,

etc), if you'd feel even better? The GAPS book explains why the gluten-free

diet doesn't always work. It's good, but it doesn't quite go far enough to

setting your tummy straight.
