I checked the article and it was in the year 2000 and it was about peg but it was a different brand and not miralax. It was called macrogol 3350 and has other ingredients in it like sodium bicarbonate, sodium chloride, potassium chloride. Miralax has just peg in it and it really didn't have any information about pros or cons. maybe when you get to view the article you may discover something useful,I don't know. margmommtlc wrote: No time to look into this deeper - but interesting http://www.tga.gov.au/ndpsc/gazette/g0005pre.pdf

Macrogol, trade name, Movicol, is a primary suspect in a lot of the reports submitted to the FDA (FOIA) adverse reporting system.......... they added the other ingredients because peg depletes them (electrolytes) so they add them to balance the depleted electrolytes ............Movicol or Macrogol is the same as goLytely and Nulytely, they created NuLytely, for the better taste. These products are generally used as a bowel cleanse for colonoscopies.......... http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/498632_print http://www.nulytely.com/golytely/index.htm Marg Messick wrote: I checked the article and it was in the year 2000 and it was about peg but it was a different brand and not miralax.
