Guest guest
Hi, Could anyone out there give me any information at all about the pain pump? I asked my pdoc about one and she more or less said " What is a pain pump? " I am desperate for anything to help my pain. Right now I am on Dilaudid. It gives you a terrible case of dry mouth and only lasts for a couple of hours that means that every two hours at night I am awakened by pain and have to take more Dilaudid. Thanks, Ardie
Guest guest
Hi Ardie, If you go to the medronics website (www.medtronics.com), you should be able to get some info. I actually have a booklet about their SynchroMed Infusion system, but it was current in April of '90 ;-) or I would offer to send it to you. Good Luck, > Hi, > > Could anyone out there give me any information at all about the > pain pump? I asked my pdoc about one and she more or less said > " What is a pain pump? Guest guest
Hi Ardie, Are you asking about the baclofen pump (for spasms) or a spinal cord stimulator (implanted) for pain. I think that Medtronics makes both but the other list members that have one or the other could probably tell you more. I know a person that has a Medtronics pump, same as for Baclofen, but she has morphine in it. It goes to the cervical region of the spine where she has serious disc problems. Guest guest
Oops! sorry, I forgot about that one. I think that this "forgetting, foggy memory" is one of the worst side effects of my meds. By worst I mean the one side effect that bothers me the most. I used to have a great memory. Now, with pain meds and "after 40 mind" and "Fibro fog" (dull memory due to fibromyalgia) I can hardly remember my name sometimes. Anyway, thanks for the reminder Rick. Guest guest
Sue, I am inquiring about the pain pump not the Baclofen pump. Guest guest
Rick, Is this friend in our group? Could she reply? Ardie At 08:51 PM 12/10/2001 -0500, S. If you want to send her a message, send it to me and I will forward it. Then she can reply directly to you and you two can exchange direct. Or I will ask her if I can give her email address directly to you. She is kinda particular about her email address. Rick
