There is a paper by sen et al in the current (20(4)) Journal of

Strength & Conditioning Research that addresses your topic. There is

also a paper by Paradisis et al in the same journal that you may find

interesting as well.

I would also be very interested in seeing some hard research on the

subject of overspeed training. As a successful track cyclist who has

personally used motorpacing as a very important training tool, I've

seen and read much anecdotal evidence concerning overspeed work, but

as a coach, I'd like to show my athletes some real scientific evidence

on the hows and whys of overspeed training.

I would check on Owen 's latest book, Aurora. He has a chapter in

that book which discusses the research literature on overspeed or supramaximal

training.
