Guest guest
Hello-My son Sloan 3 yrs 6 months was just referred to Dr . Gibson in Austin for mitochondrial testing. Can anyone with experience tell what all is done. Andwhat doctor they went to. Any information would be great!!! Thanks-Sent from my iPhone We are in the beginning stages of starting a sonrise program for our 6 year old. We are being trained by a Senior Certified Son-Rise Program Child Facilitator who lives in , TX. We talked on the phone to get more information, then we scheduled an in-home consultation where she came to our house, watched us work with our son, we watched her work with him, and got lots of feedback. There was plenty of time to ask questions. She gave us ideas about how to find volunteers, who makes good volunteers, etc. Then the next week she sent me an email with his level of development socially so we could know what goals to work on with him. For example, Seth is nonverbal (so far) and she helped us pick six words that would be really motivating for Seth to learn to use like EAT and BOUNCE. Ideas for getting more eye contact, and meaningful interaction. Our next step is holding an informational meeting (or you could just talk to people individually) and she is going to come and explain the program and answer questions for us for people who might want to volunteer in the playroom. I am so thankful for this help...I'm not too good in front of a group! Then we'll see who is ready to get going and do a training with them in the playroom with Seth. I can't wait to get started!
