Guest guest
Hi Lori, my daughter never had " blank out " episodes so I can't shed any light there. I wonder what the stomach medicine is? You may want to call the pharmacist who filled the script and ask about interactions with her other meds. I've found that our pharmacist is much more " up " on these types of potential med interactions than the psychiatrist is, even the obscure rare ones. Good luck and take care, Kathy R. in Indiana ----- Original Message ----- > My 17 yr old with OCD on prozac, zyprexa and a prn ativan for anxiety > She started a new stomach medicine that seems to be interacting with her ocd > meds. She is having " Blank outs " where she for a brief second or so she > blanks out . This has happened previously when her zyprexa was higher > I called the psychiatrist since she has had many today she just said try > to not use ativan, any one ever experience this type of side effect? > Thanks > Lori
Guest guest
hi Kathy, Thanks for the suggestion, the new med is called Levsinex for irratable bowel Questioned the pharmasist who knows Kate well, she just said to be on the look out for psychotic episodes,(how wonderful) so far none, also no specific interactions listed. I called the psychiatrist she thought it was either ativan or zyprexa interacting. The blank outs are just more freq than ever before. Guest guest
Hey Linds,My ex hubby isnt a believer of bio-meds either..infact i have been struggling to keep up with the cassein free and gluten free diet..as when he sees him for the weekend he will take him for a mc s fries and milk shake.I also found out that he has been sneaking him loads of fab ice-lollies..!!! what do you do??? I mean i do the diet intervention when he is with me mon-fri but i know at the weekends he does have little treats with his father .. Subject: (no subject)To: Autism-Biomedical-Europe Date: Tuesday, 14 October, 2008, 7:27 AM Hi Lindsey,Very sorry your husband's not supporting you - my friend's just won her husband round to biomed after many many years but he didn't even agree with a special diet! She's just convinced him wtih Holford's book 'new optimum nutrition for the mind'. Another good thing to show non-believers is 'first do no harm' - it's a Hollywood film with Meryl Streep about a little boy with epilepsy who does very well on teh ketogenic diet and not on the drugs (against the doctors' advice) that all the doctors recommend. Also 'Beautiful son' is a film about a little boy with autism and the parents' story - they are film makers so it's well done and I think pretty convincing to non-believers that it's caused by mercury/ vaccines and that biomed helps.probably no use but maybe of use to someone else on here- but let us know what he's struggling with and someone might have an idea,Sara x
Guest guest
Patty, To the left of your screen you should see a field labeled " Database " . If you click on it, it will populate a new screen and one of the links will be " Doctors trained in early intervention " . If you click on this link it will bring up the page of doctors. Barb mom to Evan (7 casts, currently in a brace) > > I don't know if I'm blind or not but where do I find the database that lists the doctors trained in Mehta casting? > > Patty, mom of Isabella, 21 months old, in useless brace & deciding what to do next >
