I am sorry to hear this. Gabby was in a body brace for about 10 years. She would wear it 23 1/2 hours a day, 24/7, and she was really good too, but sometimes she would also feel hot and hated that hard thing! Even though I knew it was for her own good, I am not going to lie, I hated it too!You know it's like everything in life. We are faced with things we don't understand, but that we have to do. Sometimes we must understand that these little angels feel frustrated at times, just like we do. It sounds as if you are a very good mommy, who loves him and I know you will be able to reassure him. It's not easy to live in a body brace like our kids have/had to...You and your family are in my prayers!Hang in there! You can do it! Look at the light at the

end of the tunnel... Esther http://www.amazon.com/shops/ar40892 "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the

Hi everyone,I am feeling so helpless and sad tonight. is going through a phase(I hope)about his brace. He almost cries every night I have to put it on him. At almost 4 years old he is very independent and very much in charge(so he thinks). He keeps telling me, "it sweats me.'' Meaning he is hot. I finally convinced him tonight to sleep without his pj shirt. God I hope it helps. And I have explained to him what would happen if he didn't wear it at night. We even explained to him about wearing a cast.He is very close to going back into it full time anyway. At his

last check-up his doctor said if his curve continued to progress, he would need to go back into it 23 hrs a day. He would FREAK! And it just kills me to see him so upset about it.I go back

and forth on the fit of the brace, but he really doesn't complain about it hurting. But to have been in the same brace for 1 year and almost 6 months I wonder if it just feels funny.I am so use to him being SO good about wearing it. In the last 3 months though he has started really disliking it. Trying everything for me not to put it on at night.Anyway if the brace Moms with older kids have any insight PLEASE send it my way.He is just old enough to sorta get it, but it is not all there yet. Thanks for letting me get this out before I go to bed.TashaMommy of twin boys- and 3 1/2 years oldFort Worth, Texas is currently in a brace at night.Casting 14 months.
