Guest guest
Does Region 3 ever hold regional meetings, symposiums, etc.? If so, how do I find out about them.[(Aguiar, )] Each UNOS region holds 2 meetings per year & the dates & locations of those are posted on the UNOS website calendar http://www.unos.org/resources/calendarOfEvents.asp They are usually held in early spring & early fall to ensure that regional business & national policy proposals are discussed & voted on prior to the UNOS Board of Directors mtgs. Some regions also schedule "clinical forums" either the same day or the following day (which is what we do in Region 1), though the title is somewhat misleading as the topics being presented can vary. For example, last fall Region 1 devoted the morning to a presentation by Bill Vaughan, which many wouldn't necessarily say was a "clinical forum", but you get the idea. TFCA doesn't currently have a similar set series of events planned, but this is not the 1st time members have organized something on a regional basis. Melia Hollar organized an evening program back in Oct '01 for members of Region 9. With budget issues being what they are, unfortunately, these type of regional events provide options for TFC's who are unable to attend national events such as the UNOS Tx Mgmt Forum or the Practice of Tx Administration Workshops. Does this help, Jen? J. Aguiar Beth Israel Deaconess, Boston

Their website is http://www.transplantmanagement.com The brochure & agenda for last year's workshop is still available under the Annual Workshop link on the left side of the website. J.
