Hey Barb, in a day or so you can go ahead and remove my kid's picture. I just

wanted everyone to be able to take a peak. They don't need to be there

permanently. The vault should probably be for " members only " .

OK, then go ahead and resize it or whatever you can do to free up space.

Thanks!

I can do it very easily, Barb, with PaintShopPro. I didn't realize the

pictures were so big.

, yours didn't need resizing, as I had already taken care of that

before I uploaded it.

I've shrunk all the pictures and freed up lots of space. We were taking up

over 20% of our alotted space. Now we're just above 1%.

For any of you that have scanners and want some tips on scanning pics for

uploading to the web:

1. Use 72 or 150 dpi. Any higher than that is a waste of precious web

space and doesn't make the picture any clearer. The higher dpi settings

are for pictures that are going to be printed in booklets, brochures,

magazines, etc.

2. I've never figured out why this is, but many times you can scan a

regular 4 x 6 picture and it comes out as 8 x 12 and takes up a tremendous

amount of web space. If you have software that can resize pictures, you

may need to resize it back down to 4 x 6 (or 6 x 4) after you've scanned it.

If some of you don't have scanners but would like to put some pictures in

the vault, please email me privately. I can send you my address and you

can mail the pictures to me. I'll scan them and get them back to you asap.

Or if you've got the pictures scanned already but don't have the software

or don't know how to do the resizing, just upload the pictures to the vault

and let me know. I'll go in and resize them for you.

>OK, I guess there's no more excuses. Sandy, this is a VERY nice offer

and I will take you up on it. I'm using the Web today so I don't have

your e-mail address. Can you post another message with your e-mail

address? Then, I'll e-mail you for your address and start searching

for a half-way decent pictures of myself.
