Guest guest
Hi All, I know some of you are using OSR or considering it and DA has put it on 's protocol for the future so I wanted to send on these notes from a conference call with Dr. Haley last night. We have a nutritionist in our area who organizes these calls and they are a great resource. THese notes are from an MD who is in my local biomed group. Enjoy. PS--Quick valkion report for us. I agree with whoever posted there is an increase in socialibility. We are working up to 1 session of 15 minutes every other day per DA instruction and I am seeing some yeast, detox behaviors, but nothing extreme; and an increase of social, humor, connection. Subtle but noticeable. OSR NOTES Barbara Bucknam, MD in land Notes from 11Nov08 Payne & Boyd Haley teleconference ~70minutes long with ~75 people participating. Boyd did most of the talking and the last 25 min were for listener questions. Boyd made OSR out of frustration, conviction and his knowledge of the chemistry science. OSR is a dietary ingredient only and has no drug-like properties! –This is the basis of its FDA approval as a dietary supplement. It is not a chelator. It is a very strong=2 0anti- oxidant that is able to get into cell membranes to the lipid bilayers and scavenge hydroxyl (OH-) free radicals. Through this process of preventing oxidation, OSR allows low/depleted glutathione levels to be raised, thus enabling the higher glutathione to due the job of removing any heavy metals that may be present. Stated another way, OSR allows the body to keep the glutathione that it makes because OSR salvages and takes away the free radical load. As an aside--Mercury is known to deplete glutathione levels. OSR is a single pure compound that contains 2 sulfur (SH-) groups. OSR is not metabolized and cannot be broken down in the body. It does not oxidize at room temperature. Its sulfur groups are unusual. Boyd gave the actual chemical structure but I didn't quite get all of it: N-N bis 2-mercaptoisothional…?? He tested it at very high doses both injected and ingested in rats for 28 days with no toxicity seen during postmortem tissue examinations. OSR has no charges on it so it does not deplete the body of essential elements like Mn, Mg, Zn, etc. Don't mix DMPS, DMSA, glutathione or ALA with OSR. If you/child experience an increase in hyperactivity this may be an indication of the need for molybdenum. Boyd is not aware of any increased yeast issues while taking OSR, but he is also not a physician and is not participating in any of the clinical evaluations. The optimum dosage of OSR is not known. It comes with a small pharmacy spoon in powder form. He recommends starting out low and slow with 1/3 of the spoon every day or every other day. He expects a capsular form to be available in January 09. It is best to give this with an oily food so it can get into the body's fat stores more readily, but this is not a requirement. Some are also giving it in juice and increasing fiber intake. He mentioned dissolving it in olive oil and rubbing it into the skin. OSR stays in the body for a long time. Boyd stated upon questioning that OSR's half-life is in days not hours, but that this is a good educated guess based on its hydrophobic properties. He does not know its rate of intake vs. outtake from the body. He says it raises the blood glutathione levels especially in the second month of use. The best labs to follow are a blood glutathione, C-reactive protein and urinary porphyrin profile. OSR dramatically raises the body's redox status and through this antioxidant nature it can help remove lead as well, but not aluminum. He was asked if OSR is an anti-viral and he said that indirectly it is through increasing glutathione in the cells which can then bind (glutathione) with viruses. OSR can help with stimming behaviors by improving gut dysbiosis. He recommends getting to 100 mg a day. Caller part icipants who have been using OSR reported improvement in gross motor skills (able to now ride a bike) and quick toilet training within a week of starting OSR. Boyd says OSR is not just for autism but is being used in other autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis, relieving muscle soreness and even improving an essential tremor in one of the funders of his toxicity studies who is a retired NYC neurosurgeon. One caller asked about whether UTMs are showing increased metal excretion while on OSR and Boyd emphasized that the kidneys are not the primary means of excretion, but the biliary transport system through the fecal route is--which is a much safer way to remove metals. More information on early patient results done by Doctors Jerry Kartzinel and Buckley will be presented this weekend at the NAA conference in Florida. Another caller asked if OSR can be used while on IV IG and Boyd said that is fine. I hope these notes are helpful and OSR can be purchased through startlivingwelltoday.com I have no financial interest in this company!
