It can come out of dormancy and present itself several ways. We all present differently. Dementia can happen that's for sure, but someone else could be more affected with joint pain. It's all different.

Somewhere I read that Lyme is like syphlis i.e. dormancy for years and coming back with a vengence at some point which includes dementia. Is that not accurate? I guess the bottom line is that either way it is a gamble and no one can say what the right path is. If you wait, have lyme and don't treat....it could be trouble later. If you treat now and have no symptoms, then you have to go through hell now.

This is the really crappy part of my story. When I put the LDN on my leg, I got so excited because I noticed that if I did this every night...I wouldn't gain any weight! I would eat a HUGE mexican meal and not gain an ounce. I thought I had found the next great weight loss thing. I even talked to the pharmacy about it and they hadn't heard of that. Oh well that was short lived. So my vanity and search to be skinny put me on this path. Well I guess it wasn't all bad, if we hadn't gotten my diagnosis we would have never looked at lyme for my son...and so on and so on.

Tami

Hi,

I did same thing without knowing, but I'm not regretfull for now.

I took cat's claw prior the test for provocation, I was thinking that I was completely symptom-free.

After starting cat's claw (same with samento or not?) I felt more tired and anxious during 1 month , then

one morning I wake-up with full energy , definitly very good. It was like I was carrying 50kg more every day since so long time,

and I was still feeling good because I was forgot what is feeling good really. Unfortunately it last only about 2 weeks and fatigue

returned back. And my test result was'nt still positive, maybe equivocal.

My husband also was symptomfree , has only reccurent sinusitis. But his test result is definitely positive without provocation. ,

After test result , He had to start antibiotic for his sinusitis,as he use antibiotic 1-2 times every year because of sinusitis but only for 1 week.

He continued 3 weeks this time, and after 1 week he felt pain at all his joints and even in his all dents. At the end of 3 weeks pain arrived to his head , and as we havent a knowlageble dr yet, scary and discontinued. But after only 3 weeks of antibiotic he felt so good and energetic that

he recognize that he was living with only 10-20 percent of his real performence. Of course symptomes returned back in 1-2 weeks.

But my experience with cat's claw and my husbands experience with 3 weeks antibiotics demostrated that we aren't symptome-free

only we used to live with them.

I asked same question about 1 month ago, living without treatment 2-3 more years-during our child treatment- is it dangerous ?

I think now , maybe we can wait 1-2 years more, but we have to treat ourselves before time bomb explosed.

We are symptom-free not because we are really healthy , but because our immunity is supressed by borrelia.

What's doing LDN or cat's claw or samento to cause flare of symptoms? They increase the number of some immunity cells and

start to fight with pathogenes already there since long time. I don't think that they are dormant, only our immunity is too weak to fight.

If we continue to live with supressed immunity, I'm afraid that one day we can wake-up with much more serious symptoms like a serious autoimmune disease or neurological disease.

I was planned to wait during my son's traitment but it's difficult after feeling what we missed , as we felt really good during some few weeks.

Maybe it's better to do some smooth treatments at least to keep our immune system stronger.

I don't want to be seriously sick after my son's recovery.

I'm currently contuning to cat's claw, an we recently started LDN. We feel tired and bad but hopefully it's not still unsupportable , we can continue our ordinary life, I hope we can continue like this.

Thanks so much for the info. I didn't know I could actually induce symptoms by taking the herbs. I guess I just thought it would kill the pathogens and enable the test to pick it up.I have way too much to do to risk getting sick. As far as symptoms go I have a problem with my right shoulder/neck that causes headaches on the right side of my head. I can get rid of one of these neck-headaches with chiro. adjustments, massage and sleeping on a rolled up towel or special pillow. They occur once or twice a month and are much more likely to occur when I have PMS. I think they are just stress-- tight muscles, but can't be sure. Other than that I feel good, good energy level, memory, etc., Although caring for my ASD son and my NT son along with all life's other responsibilities takes every bit of energy I have.Appx. 5 years ago I went through about 8 weeks of "bizarre" symptoms: extreme fatigue, muscle twitches, numbness and tingling, anxiety. I talked to my son's neuro, who ordered an MRI due to the MS concern. It was clean and all my symptoms went away on their own.So, now I'm wondering:How reliable are the test results for an asymptomatic adult with a normal immune system? Is it better to draw out the pathogens and fight them while you're relatively young and healthy, or to live with a possible time bomb that is more likely to go off when your body is already stressed from something else? I'm not thinking of doing it now, but maybe after my son recovers, hopefully I'll still be "young" and healthy!thanks!> > >> > >> ...you say you don't have any symptoms except for the> > >> shoulder/neck pain. When I found out about Lyme as a possibility for me , I was already in the thick of battle fighting it for my daughter, Makayla. She was paralyzed for two years and could no longer read an e-mail , had slurred speech, and unrelenting nerve pain so bad she would scream from the bath water touching her skin.

I was fighting for her life and there was no way I could stop to test or even spend one more penny.....as she has inched toward recovery (relatively I should say) I have been able to turn a lot of her care back over to her. She is now 18 and believe me we are both grateful I am no longer bathing her and lifting her.

As I began my own road down different treatment paths...I learned quickly what a Lyme rage is...and so for the sake of my family I slowed down....again each of us will know when the time is ripe to address our own infections, mercury, mold, negative emotional, etc etc etc but it was the sudden memory issues which pushed the point for me. I am also mercury toxic.

But please do focus each mom here NOW on your own detox pathways because then when you are ready to begin treatment of any infections....you will do better as you have prepared your body to move out the neurotoxins that dying microbes dump. Concentrate on moving your colon, liver/gallbladder detox, skin brushing and exercise to move your lymphatics and pay as close attention to what you are eating as to what your children are eating....deep abdominal breathing moves lymph. Address the health of your own adrenals and thyroid with healthy whole food and avoid coffee/caffeine to push yourself to meet the needs of your family. There's lots you can and should do before you start killing off microbes so get started with those good habits for yourselves now.

Hugs, (Makayla'smom)

Regarding adrenal issues, my children's hair analysis just came back and it indicates poor adrenal function- what is the best

way to build their adrenals up? Dr. K. had recommended a prescription for Cortex but I'm hesitant to do that. We have done some

supplements by Thorne (Adrenal Cortex) but they just don't seem to be improving. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

P.S. I do hope one day as I learn all of this I will be in a better position to help others- slowly but surely!

Darci,

Pumpkin seeds and radishes are excellent foods for the adrenals. I've heard vitamin C. Dr. K prescribed Rhodiola by Thorne to be taken 3 caps 8 am 2 caps 12am and 1 cap at 4pm. Makayla is adult dose though. He prescribed cortisol if the Rhodiola doesn't work but said Rhodiola is the more gentle approach.

Thank you - I will load up on radishes and try the Rhodiola. How much does your daughter weigh?

Darci,

Since it is a hair analysis/test, I think that your doctor is looking at the relation of sodium and potassium to calcium and magnesium. Very low calcium and magnesium compared to very high sodium and potassium indicates inadequate adrenal function. The individual can be quite stress intolerant.

High calcium and low potassium in the hair can suggest the possibility of thyroid problems.

I haven't gotten any feedback yet, however, I will be seeking another opinion from a local doctor in Seattle

this week and I will share anything I learn. If anyone else has any thoughts, please share! Thanks!

Hi Darci, Would you share what you find out about adrenal support? My husbandand I just did the saliva tests for adrenal function on the weekend. Ididn't test my son because he doesn't fit the profile of adrenalfatigue/dysfunction. As soon as I get the results I'll jump right intoresearch. I've got too much on my plate to reads up on it beforegetting the results though. We can share off list, if anyone thinks this is way too off topic fora lyme group..... :-)>> Regarding adrenal issues, my children's hair analysis just came back and> it indicates poor adrenal function- what is the best> way to build their adrenals up? Thank you Limin- what do you make of this? Here are his scores in a few areas:

Calcium- 531 (range is 160-500)

Magnesium- 160 (range is 12-50)

Sodium-5 (range is 20-200)

Potassium- 10 (range is 12-140)

Copper is 34- (range is 11-32)

Also, Titanium is off the chart at 7.8 (range is 0.70)

Total toxic representation came in at about6 80-90% in total.

This was from Doctor's Data...

One day I'll have my son figured out!!

Darci,

Is this Doctor's Data "Hair Elements" test? Andy Cutler has a whole book designated for interpreting this test. The book is titled "Hair Test Interpretation: Finding Hidden Toxicities." Per Cutler, elevated level of Titanium has some possible association with lupus, eczema and autoimmunity.

Cutler also developed 5 counting rules to interpret mercury toxicity in the body by looking into if the essential element transportation pattern is deranged. If you do not have the book, you can find the info of the counting rules at the file section of "Autism-Mercury" Yahoo group.

Per Cutler, elevations of both calcium and magnesium in hair is believed to correspond to parathyroid problems. And these might be further confirmed if your child also has low iron in hair. Because your child's potassium and sodium are down, with calcium and magnesium up, this might mean his adrenals are not making enough cortisol or adrenaline, and his thyroid is somewhat low too. I would suggest that you further run some lab tests to confirm if he indeed has these conditions.
