Congratulations for getting to the top of the CLASS list!

I called this week and we have moved up to # 15,987!

Per your question about hyperactivity, have you tried GABA?

It is available OTC, and you can give 1-4 capsules a day as needed.

It has worked well for my son, but we only use it for bad days

because it is a neurochemical and the brain can get used to it over

time.

The most dramatic results we have seen with eliminating hyperactive

behavior are related to diet. We had an extensive food allergy

panel and discovered our son is allergic to over 50 foods. We have

eliminated those foods, and also discovered he has reaction to

phenolic foods (dark fruits and vegetables and food dyes).

Eliminating phenols has also had dramatic results.

We also did a genetic profile and discovered he is missing a gene

that makes glutathione. Transdermal glutathione has helped him calm

down as well.

I know the biomedical approach may make some people sigh that it is

just too much work, but we have down the path for years with

neurologists/psychiatrists/doctors and psychiatric meds. The drug

effects never lasted, and I was fearful about side effects. My son

gained 20 lbs on Abilify and developed borderline diabetes, and it

still did not control behavior. I encourage everyone to atleast do

the genetic testing, lab testing, and try an elimination/rotation

diet before you continue down this path. Hey, I work 60 hrs a week

so I know how precious time is. I make time to cook his special

foods every Saturday night and freeze meals for the coming week. It

is not easy, but my son is so much better for it.

Hope this helps
