Guest guest
I know there are people of various opinions on here about the GFCF diet. You didn't say if your son is on it. Tristan will be 13 in April and has been on the diet since age 3. He does get infractions from time to time and his behavior is much as you described your son. We give him Kids Calm by Natural Vitality to help calm him but admittedly he is still hyper at times. He was on Abilify years back and he developed the mouth twitch and bit holes in clothes, so we choose to be med free and try natural approaches. We are in the Austin area (Bastrop) and the ARC and DSSW in San manage his CLASS. He gets Horse Back Riding Therapy once a week and they pay for attendant care, and I, his grandmother is his attendant. I have cared for him since birth, and continue to do so. You should be given a list (I think) of "providers" in your area, but my daughter knows more about that. She chose to be the "employer" which only applies to attendant care, I think, and they manage the rest. Those who aren't the employer have no say who they send to take care of your child. Many agencies can't find attendants. I hope others will offer information to you. I know they do pay for all types of therapy if a physician writes a prescription which can include O.T., speech, physical, and aqua, Hippotherapy (horse), music, etc. There may be other things they pay for that I am not aware of.
