The herbal form, ephedra (or ma huang), is very difficult to acquire in

the US, due to recent legislation that banned it's sale. This

legislation has been (successfully) challenged in at least one place,

but it remains to be seen whether that will have a major affect on its

general availability.

However, Ephedrine (laboratory produced, non-herbal) is available as an

over-the-counter drug. It can be found in some drug stores, although it

is easiest to find online. Just grab a web browser and google (or

froogle (http://froogle.google.com)) for 'Ephedrine hcl' and you'll find

multiple retailers.

It is typically sold in 25 mg tablets (a little bit higher than the

generally recommended/accepted dose of 20mg, when used for weight loss

and athletic performance). It also frequently includes 200mg of

guaiffeniesen, a decongestant/expectorant.

Just go to Doctor for a check up. When he ask what the problem is tell him

you when you exercise you feel that your airway closes off a little and your

mucus starts to get thick. He will have you run in place or do some type of

exercise while he leaves the room and then comes back in a few minutes. Anyway

when he goes to listen to your breath sounds excel forcefully this while

cause a wheezing sound that the Dr will pick up through his stethescope. If he

ask if anything has help before tell him you have used ALBUTEROL before and it

seemed to do the trick. Chances are you will get a perscription for

Albuterol. A couple of puffs before a workout and you will feel your air-way

open up

and you'll be able to concentrate better to.>>>

***Interesting. I didn't know that it is acceptable to advocate faking health

problems to obtain drugs that are appropriately reserved for those who

actually NEED them. This is the sort of thing that the group mods should filter

out.

Rather than obtain controlled substances, perhaps the athlete should be

directed to look at their program design and exercise technique.
