Guest guest
The meat protein issue is always hottly debated it seems. I always ate meat as the staple of my diet for 52 years. When I was dianozed with melanoma cancer a few years my doctor recommended I read the china study. http://www.scimednet.org/library/reviewsN91+/N91campbell_china.htm After reading the real facts on animal protein I stopped eatting all animal protein shortly after. That was 50lbs ago, my blood pressure lowered from 150 over 90 down to 100 over 65, my blood chorestol lowered from 265 down to 128 in six months.I have never felt better in my life . I personally have no doubt that most of our health issues in this country stem from over eating animal protein, including dairy products. Just my personal take on. But the largest study ever done by colin campbell over a 30 year period dont lie. The numbers are overwhelming . all the best , Mike Simon Jester wrote: > > The Protein Myth You can continue to believe what you want.... Guest guest
yep, I know. Take Tim VanOrden. He knows exactly what you are talking about. http://runningraw.com/ You can continue to believe what you want, too. Too many people think that being a vegan means eating the same dumb foods they used to eat without the meat. Twinkies are vegan and they will kill you. <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRAD3j56_Zg & feature=related> & feature=related

I will continue to believe what the best scientific evidence supports. The evidence shows overwhelmingly and unequivocally that some people REQUIRE animal proteins. Again, regardless of how it may offend your personal political philosophy, facts are facts. > Too many people think that being a vegan means eating the same dumb > foods they used to eat without the meat. > Twinkies are vegan and they will kill you. Too many people refuse to listen or believe them when people tell them that they tried their best on a pure, wholefood, raw/organic vegan diet - sometimes for many years - and felt ok for a while, then slowly started going downhill - and nothing they did worked, UNTIL they started adding back in animal proteins, and all of their problems magically vanished once they added the optimal amount (varies from person to person as well) back to their diet. With some people, it is a simple matter of removing one or more problematic foods (potatos for some, carrots for others, etc etc ad nauseum)... I would love to find a purely vegan diet that worked for me that didn't include animal protein... in fact, I'm getting ready to try an experiment with large quantities of sprouts as my protein source, to see if that works. I'll be prepared to add back in, at a minimum, my dessicated liver powder, if necessary...
Guest guest
Something that everyone has to remember is that your Blood type also has a effect on how different foods affect a person. What has a negitive effect on one person might not have the same on another. This is something that one could do research on also...Cheers..mj > > The meat protein issue is always hottly debated it seems. I always ate meat as the staple of my diet for 52 years. All this proves is that you are one of those who do well cutting out all animal proteins. Also, just fyi - virtually *everyone* who dies of a heart attack or heart disease has LOW cholesterol... Guest guest
Glad you brought " types " up . This may sound strange, but I almost feel guilty for eating meat, I guess because of so many people pushing what they think is a superior diet. I tend to eat what I crave, because I believe we may still have some good instincts. I crave meat, I eat meat, and at 48 years old I feel pretty damn good. I'm not perfect, but have gone 5 years at a time never missing a single day of work due to illness. Funny that when I read about blood types, which I just looked up today, it is suggested that I eat red meat! Ha Ha. I knew that. (I do eat veggies raw and cooked, but rarely crave anything overly starchy) You know what? Not that I would suggest anyone to eat my diet, but I am not going to feel guilty or bad about it ever again!! It is right for me. Guest guest
Good idea Loretta, I never felt guilty, bad eating habits are something we live or die by. For example millions of americans still choose to smoke knowing the hazards of it. I think perhaps with eating meat try and eat as much grass fed beef, or better yet wild game as possible. It doesnt have the hormones injected in it. I also noticed that the american heart and american cancer society are also on board now with limiting the amount of animal protein we take in. As for the blood type diet its a hoax in my mind simular to the adkins diet( I did the adkins diet once! ) . Both authors made millions selling books, at the expense of our health. I found this article based on science interesting about that. http://earthsave.org/news/bloodtyp.htm But in the end we must all choose a common sense diet based on what we can live with. all the best in health, Mike lorettaluja wrote: Glad you brought " types " up . Guest guest
Have you read the info on sprouted legumes, such as alfalfa sprouts and mung bead sprouts being of concern. Dr Weil put this out in his newsletter some years ago. I neve followed up on it but I do know that sprouts are a big part of Ann Wigmore's diet for cancer patients. Please do share what you learn about the sprout diet. As I do agree with you from my own personal experience that some people do need animal protien. And I have to add I find nothing morally wrong with consuming animal protien. The problem is with how the animals are treated through out the farming or hunting process.
