FYI and Dissemination

The Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) is having a public hearing on April 13, 2010, from 3:00pm – 6:00pm at the H. Winters Public Hearing Room, 701 West 51st Street, Austin, Texas to solicit stakeholder input for the agency’s 2012-2013 Legislative Appropriations Request (LAR). A draft LAR is expected by mid-summer.

Stakeholders will have additional opportunities to influence the development of the DADS LAR as this process proceeds. Plans are underway for additional hearings via video conference across the state scheduled for 3:00 pm on April 28, 2010. The following are the hosting sites:

At the public hearings, if you have a proposed solution to offer, please provide at the hearing the details of your recommendation. Describe the impact that you hope to see from the implementation of your recommendation.

Do not worry about specific costs— DADS will develop these later. However, if you have an idea of the general cost involved, feel free to provide that information.

You do not need to specify which Goal, Objective or Strategy corresponds to your recommendation. However, if you have an idea of where the request might fit into the DADS budget structure, feel free to provide that information
