To everyone whose responded,I am more than open to any kind of wording using "Progressive" or "EDF". Whatever you all want it to say. I just think that a two sided shirt with images of pre and post treatment spine will grab more attention than any slogan. T-shirts are like commercials. You have to grab people quickly or they'll glaze over.NickFrom: NIck Guthe <nickgutheyahoo (DOT) com>Subject: [infantile_scoliosi s] Idea for T-ShirtTo: infantile_scoliosis @yahoogroups. comDate: Friday, May 22,

Okay everyone,I'm going to toss out a suggestion that might make the T-Shirt cost a bit more, but will probably grab people's attention. It will require printing on the front and back of the T-shirt.THE FRONT: A silkscreened image or artist's sketch of an Xray of a curving scoliosis spine. In other words, it looks like it could be the spine of the person wearing the T-shirt.  The words "This is Infantile Scoliosis" on the front above the x-ray. Below the image it says "Cure on back"THE BACK: A silkscreen or sketch of a now straight spine with the words. "This is Infantile Scoliosis after plaster casting".  Below the image "Casting = cure". Or something like that.  The point is that the image of the curving spine GRABS anyone's

attention.  We should incorporate that powerful image.  We all remember that first x-ray and how it made us feel. As long as the words "Cure on back" is on the front, people will want to see the back and we can engage them.Anyway my two cents.Nick

Hi Gail,

I totally agree with you, but our child has Progressive Infantile Scoliosis which is also Idiopathic. That is his diagnosis.

Nick,So true, so true! I love the idea - my son has a t-shirt that has the spine and ribs on it that friends got him from a museum gift shop. I keep forgetting to have wear it to her ortho appt. to give her ortho a chuckle! Perhaps when she goes in for her surgery in July...Now, if my kids would just stop singing "f-r-e-e, that spells free, creditreport.com baby!" I would be a happy mom!Gail   "The Earth is the insane asylum for the rest of universe" “Normal is just a setting on the washing machine.†-BumperSnickerz.

Idiopathic means 'no known cause', so you can have Idiopathic Infantile or Juvenile Scoliosis. For our kids it is the word "progressive" that is so damaging! All of Keira's medical records say "Progressive, Idiopathic, Infantile Scoliosis"Liz

Nick,

I think that this is a really great idea! I think that having a visual of what

the cast is actually doing is key!
