I know exactly what you are going through as I am sure everyone here on the

list does. It can get so hard to deal with everything and I am not the one

with the Hep C in our family so I know how hard it is on you. The car

problems ect ect ect - it just seems to go on doesn't it with no relief in

site. One good thing your husband is back home so that is one positive thing

going on in your life right now. Hang in there girl. We are thinking of you

and your in our prayers. Wish I lived closer to you and could help you out.

Alley,

Do you have any Technical Schools around you? Also,

High Schools. You can check with their shop classes,

to see if they are working on cars. I know in St Pete

they will fix a car for nothing but, it might take a

bit longer. But, it's free. Also at the Night School

classes.

What is your car doing? I had to learn how to fix

my cars. I know a little, I am not fantastic or

anything, smile, not even sure if I remember but I can

try......Take care, Connie

hey good ideas all :) If i take car to tech school, it'll be months before

it gets fixed!

Hubby will fix it this week. He's tinkering with it slowly and thankfully no

more 100+ degrees in Dallas! Even I can stand being outside now in the 80's.

Yep I used to work on my own cars too. Changed timing belts, points, plugs

(when cars had em separate lol), tires, etc etc.

But now, no way. I haven't the energy nor the strength on combo to do it.

Hubby however, can rebuild an engine in his sleep... unfortunately not

during a heart attack lol. I'm so relieved he's home and better.

Thanks yall!

Gill, just to let you and others know that I had a phone call from Neil Hamilton yesterday and I gather some of our letters are going to be published in the next issue. Apparently, the last one had already gone to press. Regards, June

Dear Margaret,

I haven't had a reply to my letter. Like you I was disturbed to see that

not one single letter had been published in the journal and the whole issue

got precious little and grudging coverage. I wish I belonged to a

professional organisation that actually represented our professional

interests and cared about the future of health visiting - or whatever we

are to be called.

Dear Gill,

I too had no reply or acknowledgement of my various letters ( Daly's

urgings got to me). However, I note that CPHVA has printed the Senate bit and

referred to 's activity and that Jackie Carnell would appear to have

completed a U-turn. So although saving face may prevent written

acknowledgement at least some notice was taken though goodness knows if it had

any influence on those that were making the decisions.

Regards,

Ruth Grant

Sear Sally,

Thanks for your reply. I am looking into an online course in nutrition with

the University of Bridgeport -- looks less politically correct.

Thanks for the tip about vitamin A and eating fat -- years of being a fat

phobe have conditioned me to fear too much fat. Working on it.

I would love to get your magazine - Wise Traditions. My address is:

5990 Aspenwood Place

Oak Park, CA 91377

818-889-4130

Do you come to LA area on speaking engagements? -- would love to hear you.

I am considering writing a book on the politics of nutrition -- my mind

continues to boggle at the unscientific basis of the nurtrition advice

promoted by the government and large medical groups. Once I began to read the

actual studies instead of summaries or citations, I couldn't believe how

little there was to the 'foundation' upon which, the powers that be, had

erected such a monolithic nutritional structure as the Pyramid. Reminds me of

the nonsense advice handed out to new parents by the government in the 1920s

that too much attention would 'spoil' babies or later that evaporated

milk/corn syrup formulas were better than breast milk.

Namaste, Liz

Dear ,

We'll send you the info. (In fact, for anyone on this list, if you want our

info packet, just call 202-333-HEAL and leave your name and address and we

will send it There is also a membership form on the website.).

I spoke in LA earlier this year so won't be back for a year or two. But you

all should plan to come to our conference in April 27-28 in Washington, DC.

Details later. Sally
