Guest guest
please respond to the group: I'm 3 weeks post op - and for some reason I thought I'd be feeling better than this - maybe I've forgotten how hard the pfd and ccf surgeries were but I thought recovery from TCS surgery would be easier. It's probably the fact that I had 3 operations in the past 12 months plus another two on my neck the previous year to install and then remove a paddle elctrode for occipital nerve stimulation for pain ... plus my mom's in the terminal stages of bone cancer my wound looks like it is healing nicely, no swelling, whatever fluid was there immediately post op seems to have been reabsorbed. In a few weeks I can start PT. I'm taking flexeril and sporadically taking dilaudid for pain. I'm just surprised how sore my low back is - The postop instructions from TCI say you can start back to workpsrt time at 3 weeks post op.... I guess I had unrealistic expectations. I mean- this was surgery on my spinal cord - I guess I thought it would be a cinch after having 2 decompression/fusion operations one in Dec 06 and one in June 07. thanksz for letting me vent Sue in Raleigh
