Guest guest
Using money as an excuse not to provide services is ILLEGAL. Let me repeat. Using money as a reason not to provide service to help remediate a need that an evaluation has documented the child has is ILLEGAL. If ANYone at an ARD meeting EVER says that, mark the portion of the tape/recording where they say that, have them put it in the minutes and go home, ask them for a notice of refusal, and zip off a complaint form to TEA. Then call Advocacy Inc and tell them the district told you they can’t provide the service because of money. Unfortunately, enforcement of IDEA is up to the parents. I will help in any way if someone can tell me what to do. I am tired of all the !@#$ ^%$#! I was told for years at ARD, " Well,we don't have the money for that. " Then they built a brand new Ag complex (wonder where that money came from) and then I went to a school board meeting and they voted to spend $30,000 at the drop of a hat on new AG equipment. As their heirs, may we never confuse honest dissent with disloyal subversion. " Dwight D. Eisenhower
