Guest guest
This is slightly off topic, but it's just because we've been discussing similar things: Does anybody have an effective strategy for beating leaky gut? I'm not sure if it's candida or parasites causing it. I was thinking maybe high doses of CS for a long time + CS enemas. Does anybody here actually do DMSO enemas? Doesn't it burn like mad? Guest guest
Well, i don't know if it is because I am taking the DMSO anally as opposed to orally or topically, but smell has just not been a problem. After reading this I got paranoid and went over to my Mother's and also ran into a neighbor and neither said that they could smell anything unusal on me. Hope that is true.... NikkiGarnet wrote: Marcus wrote:> yes, DMSO smells (like> rotten eggs). It is because of the sulfur, no way around it, except to> use MSM instead. Not true! Chlorophyll tabs take care of the odor problem quite nicely and they are good for you!I take one or two 50 mg tabs. KAL brand is inexpensive and chewable.Garnet

Guest guest
I have used H2O2 in baths and it feels wonderful to me when I am achy from over exertion or the flu. I use 6 pints of 3%, or the equivalent diluted from 35% technical grade. I stay in the soak for at least 25 minutes, at which point I generally break into a fairly heavy sweat for about ten minutes. I usually stay in there about 45 minutes to get max benefit, have to add a bit more hot water at some point to keep it from getting too cold. One nice benefit is that it is exfoliating. Makes my skin glow nicely. I do keep it out of my hair as it gradually lightens it if you do them very often. I have used it on my face for this purpose. In a bath you can see dead skin that has sloughed off if it has been awhile. I have also used it to brush my teeth but you MUST rinse well since it is acidic and can etch the dentin on teeth causing decay eventually. I have tried the oral dosing schedule but found it difficult to keep up since it tastes pretty bad and you must do it on an empty stomach. I guess I was just not highly motivated enough. If I were diagnosed with Cancer I might be more devoted to it. It may or may not have helped my arthritis, hard to remember now. This was a couple years ago. It is suppose to relieve arthritis when you do frequent soaks. I am not sure that just two IV treatments would be enough to notice a difference Dirk. But then I am not that up on the therapy. I would not do peroxide and DMSO at the same time since peroxide is an oxidizing agent and DMSO is an antioxidant, it just seems to me that the two would cancel each other out. I know that with oral peroxide therapy most people say to take Superoxide Dismutase or other antioxidants to scrub any oxygen free radicals left over from the peroxide. Again I am not up on the therapy so not sure when you take the antioxidant. Or whether it is really known to be necessary. A lot of alt health and probably traditional health stuff that we do is conjecture or based on theory, not actual observed fact under controlled conditions. Bodies are complex and they can be expensive and difficult to study! Garnet Dirk Coetsee wrote: > > > I had H2O2 IV's. Did nothing for me. Guest guest
Or even how your body metabolizes it. There is some information that says DMSO is metabolized at least 15% to MSM. I have not looked for information on the exact metabolism of DMSO in the literature just have read, probably in DMSO Nature's Healer which summarizes the literature up to 1994, that each person can vary in how much odor they experience, and taste for that matter. We are not all as uniform as medical science would have us believe. And we do not eat the same foods each day, where there is some naturally occurring DMSO and chlorophyll among other substances that could affect things. Many people react to various pharmaceutical agents differently also. And yes, it has to be related to dose. Perhaps with the enemas since that route of administration by passes a first pass through the liver there is less metabolism and more absorption into tissues, where it is broken down into different metabolites. Orally, at least with most drugs, the liver gets a shot at them before they go out to the general circulation. DMSO is absorbed directly from the mouth and on down the GI tract so there is less hepatic by pass than with drugs that are not. Alcohol is also absorbed directly from the stomach btw, which is one reason it hits you so quickly. I guess it depends on what's infecting you.On 11/15/06, Garnet < garnetridge@...> wrote: I have used H2O2 in baths and it feels wonderful to me when I am achy from over exertion or the flu. Guest guest
I have HCV, among other things. I began drinking it for that, and it seemed to help but not like the combination therapy. If it did nothing else it kept my immune system from having to deal with colds and flues and viruses and the like so that it could concentrate on my HCV, but I think it helped with the HCV as well. I am hoping in the upcoming months to do some blood work on my virus but I am without insurance and my husband suffered a major stroke in May. We do not qualify for aid so have been waiting the 6 months you have to wait to get disability. I can say that no one in our family has suffered any illnesses since we began taking the CS. We never take flu shots, either. Besides drinking the CS we spray our hands and faces, especially our eyes whenever we come in from a public place. We also lave our sinuses with it using the Neti pot. I wonder about adding some DMSO to that route, as well. I am not wimpy about taking meds, but my trouble with the oral DMSO is that for some reason it is just a taste I cannot tolerate. Nikki That's good to know. What do you take it for, if I may ask? Guest guest
This is interesting, Garnet, some food for thought for me about the whys of my HCV improvement with this route. Thanks, Nikki Or even how your body metabolizes it. Guest guest
Peppermint helps with the taste of DMSO. Just keep some handy and put them in your mouth after you use DMSO. I like Tic Tac or Certs because they are not so sugary and they do not have artificial sweetners. I use 10% DMSO with CS in my eyes, nose and ears. It does not seem to sting my eyes at the concentration. Garnet Nikki Cowan wrote: > > > I have HCV, among other things. Guest guest
People definitely differ in their sensitivity to odors / aromas. Women differ depending on their cycle and people with MCS (multiple chemical sensitivity) often have a heightened sense of smell to an extreme. Pregnant women often have this as well. Guest guest
There is a Canadian pharmacy that sells bulk Guaifenisin. You might check there for bulk Diflucan / Fluconazole. They also sell encapsulators. But beware, many people go on Nystatin or Fluconazole, and now the newere Itraconazole with little to no benefit. When I took Sporanox / Itraconazole for Candida I did feel better for about two week. I took it for three months with all the liver enzyme tests -- all of the azoles are liver toxic. It did not work on the Candida because it is in the lower gut and they drugs just don't get there in sufficient concentration. Garnet Dirk Coetsee wrote: > > > Lucky you. Guest guest
Never hurts to take probiotics and they are cheap so why not stop worrying about it and just take them. Personally I do not but then I do not take large amounts of CS every day. It just seems to me that Candida would be rampant in the community that does. From my experience and time spent on www.silverlist.org there are no reports of this.
