I hope you have called the number someone suggested and reported it. Also, the daycare seems to have missed the arrival of your child by bus as well and they should know the approximate time and have someone looking out for her arrival. Perhaps the driver has forgotten what the horn is for. Hope you get it all worked out.A 3 y/o left with a stranger...! ?!? Guest guest
That is ludicrous! Anytime you’re told something is not allowed, politely ask to see the written rule/policy.  Generally there isn’t one. Guest guest
Laughable and oddly enough it is in their transportation policy and procedure manual as I asked to view their written policy. To accommodate my boys' safety, the district made a provision that the school bus assistant would phone me (3) minute prior for a "heads up"....they're coming around the corner!! FYI: I had to obtain a medical statement of necessity and review my concern of safety with the superintendent of district. My house is off a busy road and it is unsafe for my sons and I to wait by the road. Firstly, they're boys and boys with PPD don't need to be hanging around the street waiting for a school bus to come along!!! Very kindly, I requested for driver to honk and transportation explained honking for student was not permissible... So there you have it...."No HONKING" or backing up from a driveway!! Too funny!! ~~ From: frankatz99 <frankatz99yahoo (DOT) com>Subject: [Texas-Autism- Advocacy] Re: School bus dropped my child off with an unauthorized personTo: Texas-Autism- Advocacy@ yahoogroups. comDate: Friday, April 9, 2010, 1:56 PM At the very least, it should be added to the IEP that the driver should honk the horn and wait for a daycare provider to walk out and get the child. Guest guest
That’s terrible! Doesn’t say the aid can’t get up and walk them though. If she can’t due to the safety issue for the other kids, maybe there should be two aides on the bus.
