Guest guest
Hey and welcome to our humble abode. We all know how you feel. It's such a relief to know you are not the only one with this condition but at the same time you'd never want anyone to go through this. I have had this since about 12 also and I'm now 36. It's very hard when people don't understand and even worse when they mock you for it. I've been there. The good thing is that you are still young, and finding out about this sooner than many of us so you may be able to find things here that may help you out. There is the possibility of a study by the NIH approaching and we are all VERY hopeful that it takes place. But in the meantime, we all need to hang in there and help each other out. Glad you are here! Darlene > > Hello everyone > > I just joined this group and am still in the process of reading all the entries, so if I repeat something, I apologize! I just wanted to say that I'm sad and happy that there are other people out there just like me. I actually started to cry when I was reading some posts because I know how you all feel and it kills me to know that anyone else has to deal with something like this. I'm 19 years old and I've been living with Soft Sound Sensitivity since I was about 12. I'm in college and living with a roommate is pretty much the worst thing in the entire world. The worst part of all of this for me is having people who don't understand, when I ask someone to stop and they crunch louder because they think it's a joke, or having my family not understand.. thank you guys for being here for someone who really needs it. > > MK >
Guest guest
You're right , no one can understand what we go through unless they've experienced it themselves. It's extremely painful and frustrating. That's part of the reason we appreciate each other so much. We're the only ones that know what each other is going through. I have Soft Sound Sensitivity for about my whole life, I am 17. My whole life I had so many ear infections and surgery. That is how I developed this. It is so frustrating because no one has any idea what it feels like. My parents do not know what to do because they do not understand what it feels like. I am glad that I am not the only one who has what I have, but I wish no one would have to go through what we go through on a daily basis. Thank You To: Soundsensitivity Sent: Wednesday, April 8, 2009 11:41:20 PMSubject: Re: My name is and I'm new. Hey and welcome to our humble abode. We all know how you feel.
