Hello Ajai,

Thanks for the compliment on the 65 lbs. I sure hope that I did not

leave the impression that it was done without spending the calories.

At the start of my weight loss I was doing about 1/2 hour per day of

cardio excerise. Over the course this has increased to one hour EVERY

DAY. Over the last nine months I have also added an hour of weight

lifting almost every day. When I say weight lifting I also include my

body weight days and free excerise days. One of the cool things that

I consider an accomplishment is that in my middle fifties I have

mastered doing back handsprings! Always had trouble with them even

when young but no more. From the back handspring I normally dip right

into a squat and begin a set of jumping squats. Something I also call

weight lifting or free day excerise. So weight loss is not just from

good healthy food but a lot of work turned into fun.

if one takes lot of carbs and insulin level is constantly high to

manage the high blood glucose level, after certain period one

develops insulin resistance. Means now he will require more insulin

for the same amount of glucose to be dealt. Ultimately one develops

diabetes. But I think insulin resistance is not directly related with

fat gain.

> As far as high carbs and fat concern, specially for fat loss, it's

only the matter of calories you consume. If one takes less fat and

high carbs or if one takes low carbs and moderate fat, calories will

be the same. Body wt. depends upon how much calories you take and how

much you spend thru' exercise or routine activities. Ultimatly it

does not matter wheather calories are from carbs or fat. We have

store of carbohydrate and fat in our body and they are interchangeble.

> I agree with Harry that there should be balance in diet. One should

take good fat. I am also impressed by his wt. loss of 65 lbs. But it

is difficult to comprehend that eating good fat and good carbs, even

with high calories and without spending them, can lead to wt. loss.
