There are private ABA schools that have (close to, at some schools) 1:1

placement where the Speech, P/T, O/T are integrated into the program.

With your son's severity, his PICA issues, and his need for an intense

program, it might be easier to get a full all around program than

trying to build something yourself with no insurance to back you up.

But sometimes it can be difficult to get this sort of placement with

some school districts. It would be helpful if you could have a full IEE

(individual education evaluation) to show the needs of your child. This

way you can just have the school pay for the program that they cannot

give him in the public placement.

I'm not sure what you mean by private placement. What I'm looking

to be able to offer him is private speech therapy, private occupational

therapy and private physical therapy. I don't think he's ready to be in

a situation where he doesn't have a one to one teacher to child ratio,

so utilizing PPCD and attempting to get adequate speech, p/t and o/t

through the district is probably not an option. Still, we can't lose

all of his services, so something has got to give.
