Guest guest
I don't know if someone has already covered this. Why do we have that response, or have the physical need to look at the trigger? It's not like they are going to eat/ attack us. It confuses me as to why we feel so threatened by the triggers. Theories anyone?
Guest guest
I've found that sometimes by finding the specific source of my discomfort I can let it go. Of course this has only worked with outdoor noises (kids basketballs, bass, ext) When its food or gum looking at it just makes it worse. But I agree if I hear something I start searching for or staring at it without realizing it. Must be psychological you know like when people slow down so they can look at a car crash. or maybe its a part of our wild side A lion can warn off a hyena by simply showing its teeth so maybe we are trying to "show our teeth" and make it stop I have to say again how much I love this group. To be able to say these things and not have people laugh at me. Okay the lion thing might get some laughs but you still know where I'm coming from April, Miranda and Ethan Subject: Why do we have the "flight or fight" response? To: "4s 4s" <Soundsensitivity >Date: Wednesday, January 28, 2009, 1:02 PM I don't know if someone has already covered this.
