Intense Tooth/gum sensitivity

I've been having a weird experience recently and wondering if anyone else has it or knows anything about it. I don't have particularly sensitive teeth. It's probably why they can be infected without me being aware of it. However, the last few days something strange has been going on. I ate some cold watermelon and my lower teeth felt like they were on fire. Like I had acid in my mouth. They hurt/ached/burned so much that it made my eyes tear. I had to take a pain killer to try to get the pain under control. This has happened twice now in a few days, but NEVER before in my entire life. Also, the rest of my jaw (upper) sometimes feels constricted/achey, like I'm getting lock jaw. I'm used to odd sensations in my jaw, but I've never experienced anything like this. I'm also feeling more pain in the teeth I believe are probably my worst problem areas, as well as sinus pain (and I just had the baloon sinuplasty). My friend with a lot of osteomyelitis experience says the pain/cold sensitivity is a good sign. Shows my teeth are still vital as opposed to being dead and needing them all removed. I don't know. It doesn't feel like a good thing to me. I actually wondered if I'd had a sudden surge of blood to that area. I actually ran to the mirror to see if my gums were bleeding, althoug I'm not sure why I would have thought that. Any thoughts or similar experiences anyone? penny
