This is a copy of a recent post on the iodine list:

" ...have found on the " quinolones " forum that many hypo folks were

affected this way (due to what you explained in your post)...and

many also got diagnosed with Hashi's after taking a quinolone. So

am very leery of this class of drugs...and don't think any

Hashi's/autoimmune person should ever take them. "

I've had hashi's for quite a while. Also have taken quinolones (Cipro) since my dx. So what exactly is the connection? hope0073 <hope0073@...> wrote: This is a copy of a recent post on the iodine list:"...have found on the "quinolones" forum that many hypo folks were affected this way (due to what you explained in your post)...and many also got diagnosed with Hashi's after taking a

Hope, I would seem to fit this category. I have or had Hashimotos and

am hypothyroid. I also cannot tolerate quinolones. However, I am not

aware that my thyroid got worse while on the quinolones. I have my

levels checked about every 3 months.
