Tonsil removal cures ADHD?

I just saw a news report on this, and after googling the subject, I see there have been studies on this for a while which have recently been confirmed again according to this news report (I didn't catch the research insitutuion), which show a big connection with ADHD kids and enlarged tonsils/adnoids, causing breathing & sleep disturbances (apnea) resulting in extreme fatigue and sleep deprived behaviors. I even saw an adult study in my search. I know this doesn't relate to infection specifically, however, I know that some of us are touched by ADHD in some form. And Matt in particular has studied sleep apnea, I think. It's also common knowledge that tonsils are frequently infected, we've probably all experienced it at some point. So coincidentally, my own daughter, who teeters on the brink of CFS at times,

has, according to one of her doctors, the largest adnoids he'd ever seen. Hmmmm. So why are these kids' adnoids so large? Is it genetics? Inflammation? Undetected infection? And why does it seem there's such an increase in ADHD of late? It didn't seem to be always be the problem that it is today. Again, is it a hidden infection? It's interesting that a couple months back, one of our local radio djs was dx'd with sleep apnea, and learned that he'd had it all his life. He suddenly understood why he couldn't concentrate/focus, was always screwing up as a child. Anyway, food for thought.
